Jean B. Leifheit, 85, a three-year resident of Dover Plains, formerly of Jefferson Valley, died on Monday, March 5, 2012, at her nephew’s home. Ms. Leifheit was a registered nurse with the Bedford Hills School District in Bedford Hills, for 25 years, retiring in 1985.

Born October 6, 1926, in Mahopac, she was the daughter of the late Gulio and Anna (Ferrari) Butironi. Ms. Leifheit is survived by two nephews, James Browne and his wife, Marie, of Dover Plains, and Ronald Butironi of Mahopac; and a niece, Susan Arnold and her husband, Roger, of Mahopac.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Holy Trinity Church, Route 37 and 39 in Sherman, Ct.
