Geneva F. Gren

Geneva F. Green, age 83, of Danbury, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Danbury Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Green was born in Danbury on March 3, 1929, to Ernest and Mabel (McDonald) Erickson. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1947, and married Alfred E. Green on May 2, 1948, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Mr. Green died in 1992.

Mrs. Green was a clerk with Guideposts in Carmel for 25 years, retiring earlier. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, knitting and crocheting. Through the years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband Alfred. She is survived by her son, Alfred Edward Green Jr. of Botsford, Conn.; two daughters, Geneva Genovese of Stuyvesant, N.Y., and Patricia Davis of Watertown, Tenn.; two sisters, Esther Anderson of Danbury, and Ellen Stoughten, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; as well as 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great children. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mabel Green in 1998.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Patterson. Dwyer Funeral Home at 23 South Street in Patterson assisted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Geneva’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
