Clarence H. Colman, of Pawling, passed away at New Milford Hospital, New Milford, Ct., on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Mr. Colman was 94.

A life-long resident of Pawling, he was born in Pawling on January 15, 1918, son of Howard F. and Mary Alice (Woodard) Colman. Mr. Colman attended Pawling High School and was a WWII US Army Air Force veteran, where he served as an airplane mechanic. On September 9, 1945, he married Bernice Cole in Pawling. She predeceased Clarence on July 14, 1991.

Clarence was the parts manager for the car dealerships, DeWitt Brothers, L.L. Tompkins, and Bill Kieran, Inc. all of Pawling. Clarence was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Pawling, and he loved gardening and his family.

Clarence is survived by his son, George Colman of Poughkeepsie, his daughter, Barbara Colman, also of Pawling, grandson Scott Colman, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his son, William, who passed away May 17, 2005, and three brothers, James and Charles Colman, and George Chamberlain.

Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, June 12th, at the Central Baptist Church of Pawling. Burial followed In Pawling Cemetery.
