A 21-year-old Carmel man suffered a serious leg injury Sunday while operating a motorcycle in a common driveway adjacent to his home.

The Putnam 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a "man down" at 123 Gleneida Ridge Road at 5:30 p.m. and summoned assistance.

Despite the severe leg injury, EMT's said the young operator was "extremely fortunate" since he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
