Charles A. Conklin

Charles A. Conklin, 75, a long-time resident of Holmes, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Putnam Hospital Center, in Carmel.

Son of William and Ruth (VanKeuren), Charlie was born in Peekskill, on August 29, 1936. He served in the US Army and was a machinist at Amphenol Corporation in Danbury, Ct. Charlie married Catherine Williams in Patterson in 1960; she predeceased him on September 12, 2008.

Charlie enjoyed reading, model airplanes, and studying trains, both model and real.

He is survived by his son, Charles of Holmes; two daughters, Ruth Conklin of Brewster, and Christine Russell and her husband, Timothy, of Dover Plains; two brothers, William “Red” Conklin and his wife Penelope of Holmes; and John Conklin and his wife Eileen of Goodyear, Az..; and three grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa, and Joshua Russell.

Visitation was at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, on Wednesday, June 27th from 7 to 9 p.m., with the service at 8:30 p.m.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
