Emily Biteto

Emily Bitetto, age 93, of Patterson, formerly of the Bronx, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill, NY.

Mrs. Bitetto was born in Gibraltar on December 22, 1918, to Jesse and Prosperina (Fernandez) Sterrett. She graduated from schools in the Bronx.

On June 29, 1959, Emily married Frank J. Bitetto in New York City. Mr. Bitetto died in 1997.

Emily was first married to John Lincoln Knight, who died in 1953.

Mrs. Bitetto was the souvenir manager of Gate #4 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx for many years.

She was a life member of the Columbites of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Boyd Council in the Bronx.

Mrs. Bitetto is survived by her son, John F. Knight, of Patterson. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Sharon Lynn Knight Vivone, who died in 1980, and five brothers and two sisters; Joseph, Jesse, Frederick, Robert and Edward Sterrett and Marylou DiLecce and Tessie Silver.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 9, 2012, at St. James The Apostle Church in Carmel, with internment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. Friends called at the Dwyer Funeral Home, Patterson, on Sunday.
