John E. Mongson

John E. Mongson of Carmel died suddenly on July 26, 2012, in Carmel at the age of 77.

Mr. Mongson was born July 24, 1935, in Mt. Kisco, son of the late David and Mary (Mead) Mongson. He lived in Bedford Hills and Brewster for many years before moving to Carmel ten years ago. He had served in the Army and was a Mechanic for CV Pierce in Pleasantville, before retiring in 2000.

He was predeceased by his lifelong companion Fay Salvio in 2009.

Mr. Mongson is survived by his five children - John, Perry and Louis Salvio, all of Carmel; Lonna Bambino and her husband Peter of Dover Plains; and Kimberly Lombardi and her husband John of Wappingers Falls; a brother David Mongson of Lanson, Mi.; a sister Rosemary Vindberg of Shenorock, NY; and three grandchildren - Michael James Arrigo and his wife Delia (Stanley), Angel Marie Bambino Thomas and her husband Jason and Peter John Bambino. He was also predeceased by three sisters Eliene McDonald, Vicky Ogden and Davaline Mongson.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 31, at 3 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY 10509. The family received friends at 2 p.m. Internment was private.
