Darlene Karen Butler, of Patterson, died Tuesday July 31, 2012, in Carmel, at the age of 59.

Darlene was born May 14, 1953, in Mt. Kisco, daughter of Shirley (Linkenhoker) Butler and the late Edward Butler Sr.

She graduated from Brewster High School and was a self-employed Nanny for over twenty years. Darlene moved from Brewster to Patterson five years ago.

In addition to her mother, Shirley, from Matlacha, Fla, she is survived by her sister Lorraine DePalma of Bokeelia,

Fla., her brother Edward Butler Jr. of Brewster, her nephews Jason, Ricky and Andrew DePalma, and nieces Katy Lynn and Shelley Marie Butler. She is also survived by her best friend Naomi, her cat.

A private cremation will take place and her remains will then be buried in the family plot in Milltown Rural Cemetery in Brewster.

Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
