Frank A. Anastasia Jr. of Patterson died unexpectedly in Danbury, Ct., on Wed. August 1, 2012 at the age of 78.

He was born Feb. 21, 1934, in New York, NY, son of the late Frank and Angelina (Errico) Anastasia.

On May 14, 1954, he married Mary Gerani in Holy Rosary Church in Manhattan. He then left to serve with the Navy on the USS Intrepid for three years. They moved to Patterson forty years ago, where they became members of Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Anastasia also was a member of the VFW Post 9257 in Putnam Lake, a past member of the American Legion Post in Patterson, a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Breen Council in Putnam Lake and retired after thirty years as a custodian supervisor with the Brewster Central School District.

In addition to his wife Mary of Patterson he is survived by his three sons, Frank and Anthony Anastasia of Patterson, and Daniel Anastasia of Brewster; a brother, Ralph Anastasia of Danbury; two grandchildren, Amy and Lisa; and a great grandchild, Sophia. He was predeceased by his son Michael in 1990.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 4 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake. Interment followed in St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY 10509 handled the wake and the arrangements.
