Franklin Nana

Franklin Nanna, a long time resident of Brewster, formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY, died peacefully at his home on October 1, 2012. He was 77.

Franklin was born on August 13, 1935, in Bari, Italy, son of the late Joseph and Marianne (Acito) Nanna. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in the Bronx and served in the US Army. Franklin married Antoinette Prisco on June 29, 1958, at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Vernon. He was a Quality Assurance Specialist for the US Government Department of Defense in Danbury, Ct., for 25 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster and very involved with Habitat for Humanity in Putnam County. Besides his wife Antoinette of 54 years, Franklin is survived by two daughters, Catherine Dyab of Queens; Mariann Elgolshani of Danbury; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, October 6, 2012, 10:30am at St Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Interment will be private. Donations may be made in Franklin’s memory to: American Cancer Society, Putnam County Unit, 220 Route 6, Mahopac, NY 10541.
