HAROLD LLOYD BAILEY

Harold Lloyd Bailey of Patterson died on Saturday October 20, 2012, at the age of 71.

Mr. Bailey was born October 26, 1940, in Peekskill, son of the late Lloyd Atward and Mabel (Stevens) Bailey. He graduated from Mahopac High School in 1958 and served with the US Army. He worked as a laborer for William Kelly Company in Katonah, NY, for 35 years before retiring.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his children, Beth Bailey of New Fairfield Ct., Christopher Bailey of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Victoria Davidson of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Hanna Diemer, Christopher Bailey and Daniel and Lea Lennon. Mr. Bailey is also survived by his brother Gary Bailey of Lake Carmel, and a sister Jackie Tompkins of West Seneca, NY. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Faillace in August.

Lloyd, as everyone knew him, was a dedicated, caring, hardworking man. He touched so many lives with his wisdom, his good nature and no nonsense sense of humor. He was everyone’s go to guy and would never let you down. His love for his family was beyond words. He lived his life for his children and but most of all for his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and his best friends. They were the strength that sustained him in the last years of his life. In his passing to Heaven he did not lose the battle with his illness, he won the war on his own terms. This is a testament to his strong will and his perseverance. His legacy will live on through every soul that crossed his path.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday October 24, at Beecher Funeral Home, Brewster, with interment at Rose Hills Cemetery, Putnam Valley. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 3049 Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 or www.Americanheart.org.
