Helen M. Eastwood

Eastwood, Helen M., age 91, a lifelong resident of Mahopac, NY, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home in Brewster, NY.

Helen was born July 7, 1921, in Granite Springs, NY, to the late James and Clara (Head) Hyatt. She graduated from Mahopac High School in 1939.

Helen married Rev. Earl Eastwood on January 18, 1948, at Red Mills Baptist Church in Mahopac Falls, NY. Rev. Eastwood died February 22, 1992.

Helen was a file clerk for Guideposts, Inc. in Carmel, NY, for 10 years before retiring in 1971. Mrs. Eastwood was also the financial secretary of the Red Mills Baptist Church for 30 yrs. Shortly after high school, Helen had been a secretary for Borden Dairy in Baldwin Place, NY.

Helen is survived by her son, Earl Gary Eastwood and his wife Loretta of Conway, SC; a brother, Douglas Hyatt of Mahopac Falls, NY, and a sister, Mildred Austin of Windsor, NY; two grandchildren, Stephanie Fannelli and her husband Anthony and Earl Gary Eastwood and his wife Sarah. Also six great grandchildren, Gabrile and Michael Fannelli and Noah, Sadie, Jessica and Elli Eastwood. She was predeceased by a brother James Hyatt and three sisters, Marion Sprague, Viola Benjamin and Shirley Sweet.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2012, at 12:00 PM at Northeast Baptist Church, 101 East Pembroke Rd., Danbury, CT 06811. Interment will follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, NY. www.beecherfuneralhome.com
