Arlene Philips Sitzer

Arlene Phillips Sitzer of Marlton, N.J., formally of Brewster, died at Virtua Hospital on December 23, 2012. She was 93.

Arlene was born April 10, 1919, in Ghent NY, to the late Harry and Hattie (Allen) Phillips. She married the late Albert F. Sitzer on May 27, 1939, in Ghent, NY. They moved to Brewster in 1940 and lived there for 65 years. He predeceased her on February 11, 2002. She worked for the Brewster School District as a cafeteria manager for twenty years before retiring in 1978.

Arlene is survived by her loving sons, Donald and his wife Debbie Sitzer of Marlton, N.J., and Paul Sitzer of Astoria,

N.Y.. She is also survived by two grandsons, Daniel (Jackie) and David (Brooke), great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband she is predeceased by her siblings; Malcolm Phillips, Richard Phillips, Ambrose Phillips, Romaine Phillips, Margaret Weinbrenner, and Edwin Phillips.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 9am to 11am at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster. Interment will follow at Ghent Union Cemetery, Ghent, NY. Contributions in her memory may be made to the cause of your choice in honor of Arlene Sitzer.
