Marjorie Barnes Hill Wright

Marjorie Barnes Hill Wright, who lived most of her life as a resident of Mahopac, NY, went to be with The Lord on December 26, 2012.

She was 92.

She was born in New York City on November 15, 1920, the daughter of Raymond and Lulu Barrett Hill.

Marjorie graduated from Holy Cross Academy in 1939 and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in 1943. After a short time at the first Mahopac Hospital, she worked for 53 years at the Montefiore Hospital Medical Group in the Bronx, retiring in 1996. She was a former member of the Red Mills Baptist Church.

On October 19, 1947, she married Frederick Wright Jr. in Mahopac Falls. Frederick died on August 7, 1975. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Muriel Hill, her nieces, Darlene Hill Lampe (John) and Karen Hill Czysz (James), her nephews Brian Hill (Maureen) and Timothy Hill (Lynn), 4 great nephews, her great niece and her great, great nephew as well as many members of the Wright Family. Her parents and her brothers, Donald R. Hill and Ernest E. Hill and his wife Joan died earlier.

Visiting was held on Wednesday January 2, 2013, at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, at 11 a.m. at the Red Mills Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls.
