Richard F. Kopeck

Richard F Kopeck, age 65, of Patterson, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Putnam Hospital Center.

Mr. Kopeck was born June 16, 1947, to William and Eleanor (Cornell) Kopeck. He married Antoinette on December 7, 1969, in the Bronx.

Mr. Kopeck was a sergeant with the NYPD working out of the Bronx for 20 years before retiring in 1986. He then worked for Home Depot in Brewster, NY.

He had lived in Putnam Lake (Patterson) since 1972. Through the years, he enjoyed car racing, fishing, horseback riding, golf and travel. He was also a longtime member and drug awareness chairperson of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 2101 in Brewster.

Besides his wife Antoinette of 43 years, Mr. Kopeck is survived by his brother, William Kopeck of Marietta, GA.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church, in Patterson, with interment following at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. Friends called at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Kopeck’s memory may be made to a charity on one’s choice that will assist the families of New York and Long Island affected by Hurricane Sandy.
