Ruth Lavern (Perkins) Tritto

Ruth Lavern (Perkins) Tritto passed away peacefully at Teresian House in Albany, N.Y., at the age of 87 on December 26th, 2012.

Ruth was born in Phoenix City, Alabama on January 6, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Rosco and Helen (Marsden) Perkins and the widow of Nicholas Tritto of New York City, who died in 1976. She was also predeceased by a brother, Rosco Perkins, Jr., and a beloved aunt, Mary Kate Taylor.

She grew up in Columbus, Georgia, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Ruth was passionate about her family and known for her tenacious spirit as well as her pride in her southern heritage. Ruth loved animals and was always ready with treats. Ruth was employed and subsequently retired from Wassaic Development Center in Amenia, NY.

Survivors who will greatly miss Ruth’s presence in their lives include her brother Bobby (Dot) Perkins of Eufaula,

Alabama; her children Nicholas (Joanne) Tritto of Kent Lakes, Deborah (James) Bilinski of Ithaca, and Ronald Tritto and Angela Tritto of Albany N.Y.

She was very proud of her seven grandchildren; Jason (Linda), Steven, Katie, Robert and Keith Tritto, Brian and Paul Bilinski, and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mia Tritto.

Special thanks to the staff at Teresian House, in particular to the caring staff on Mt. Carmel West who attended to her with kindness, love, and humor. A memorial service for Ruth was held at Teresian House on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. .

Interment of Ashes will be held at a later date with immediate family at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster, where she will join her husband in eternal peace.
