John G. Reinhardt

John G. Reinhardt of Brewster, New York, died with his family by his side on Saturday February 23, 2013, in Carmel at the age of 85.

He was born March 31, 1927 in Brewster, son of the late John M. and Catherine (Eisenla) Reinhardt. Mr. Reinhardt was a lifelong resident of Brewster, a graduate of Brewster High School and a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. John married Patricia Mahoney, the love of his life, on June 21, 1951, in New York City. She pre-deceased John in September 2000.

John was a member of the Brewster VFW, a N.Y. Telephone Pioneer and a former Rotary member. He was a proud US Navy veteran, having served in the military from 1945 to 1954. John had a passion for playing golf and hunting and was an avid traveler. He was employed by the N.Y. Telephone Company in White Plains for over 36 years as a district manager. But most of all he will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends.

John is survived by his loving children, daughter Dory Burdick (Pete Gannon) of Brewster, sons John Reinhardt (Lisa) of Pine Bush, James Reinhardt (Christy) of Pawling, and Stephen Reinhardt

(Denise) of Brewster; cherished grandchildren Sean Burdick and Jenna Burdick of Brewster, Lindsay Burdick- Witts of Carmel, Samantha Reinhardt of Pine Bush, and Stephen Reinhardt, Jessica Reinhardt and John Reinhardt of Brewster; and also survived by his brother Joseph Reinhardt of Carmel.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 27th, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 11:30 am. Interment followed at the St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery. Family received friends at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, N.Y. 10509, 845-279-3615 on Tuesday, February 26th.

He will be greatly missed.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to an organization for special needs children that John’s son Jim and his wife Christy Reinhardt founded and run out of Pawling, N.Y. called ‘Crews Voice.’ John’s youngest grandchild has a diagnosis of autism.
