Sadie DiDio

Sadie DiDio, 89, of Brewster died peacefully at home on Friday, March 8th, with the love of her life and husband of 68 years, Paul DiDio, at her side.

Sadie was born March 9, 1923, in Brooklyn to Ferdinando and Rose DiCaroli. She was raised in New York City and moved back to Brooklyn, where she met Paul DiDio in the church choir. After marrying Paul on May 27, 1944, they moved to Long Island, where they raised their two sons before settling in Brewster in 1963.

Sadie loved to cook and crochet and her homemade blankets were appreciated by many. Family was the center of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her devotion to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews was evident every day.

Sadie is survived by her husband Paul DiDio; sons, Sero DiDio and his wife Meryl of Brewster, Fred DiDio and his wife Nancy of Binghamton; and sister Pauline Cavalli of Richmond Hills, NY. Her grandchildren, Paul Di- Dio, Jessica Lamoureux and husband Bobby, Sara DiDio, and Alisa DiDio were the light of her life. She was predeceased by siblings Russell DiCaroli, Dominick DiCaroli and Laura Vitrano.

Friends called at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster (www.beecherfuneralhome.com) on Monday, followed by funeral service on Tuesday, March 12, and interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
