Therese A. McDermott

Therese A. McDermott, 86, of Carmel, passed away on March 11, 2013.

Mrs. McDermott was born on July 21, 1926, to Raymond and Mary (McGrane) Gignac in New York City. Before her retirement, Therese worked as an Administrative Assistant for Horace Mann, in Riverdale, N.Y.

She enjoyed and lived life to its fullest, her family meant the world to her, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy is her family, and her famous saying was “It's five o'clock somewhere,” so enjoy.

She is survived by her five loving children, Terry O'Sullivan, Michael Mc- Dermott, Jean Weldin, Carol McDermott and MaryEllen Williams; twelve wonderful grandchildren, Jimmy, Denis, Therese, Meghan, Christopher, Heather, Jacqueline, Sean, Kathie-Marie, Breanne, Brittany and Nikki; and six adoring great-grandchildren, Bridget, Tommy, Caroline, Elizabeth, Denis and Maggie, and was looking forward to celebrating the birth of great-grandchild number seven.

She is predeceased by her beloved daughter; Kathleen McDermott. A visitation was held on Thursday, March 14, at Cargain Funeral Home, Carmel, and a A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 15, at St. James the Apostle R.C. Church, Carmel. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
