Edward Ruggiero Spallina

Mr. Edward Ruggiero Spallina, 89, died April 4, 2013, in Vero Beach.

Mr. Spallina was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Distinguished Flying Cross.

He was an Industrial Arts Teacher and Dept. Chairman in the Lakeland School District from 1955 to 1981.

Mr. Spallina was a member and Past President of the Italian American Club Mahopac, NY; an avid golfer and member of the Mahopac Golf Club, Mahopac, NY.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Faust Spallina of Vero Beach; sons, Edward, Jr. (Karen Morgan) of CT, Paul (Rosemary) of FL and Joseph (Karen) of NY; daughter, Annamarie of New York, NY; four grandchildren and one great –granddaughter.

Visitation will be held from 4:00- 7:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2013 at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Mahopac, NY. A Graveside service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Rose Hills Cemetery, Putnam Valley, NY.
