Robert Milnor ‘Scotty’ Scott

Robert Milnor ‘Scotty’ Scott, age 78, a fifty-year resident of Carmel, formerly of Patterson, died in Nyack, NY on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Mr. Scott was born March 4, 1935, in Patterson, to William F. and Hilda V. (Pennell) Scott. He was a graduate of Carmel High School.

On September 19, 1959, Robert married Joyce J. Karl at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Brewster.

Mr. Scott was a mechanical assembler for Peschel Instruments in Towners, NY, which later became Hipotronics in Brewster, for 42 years, having retired in 1999.

As a younger man, Robert enjoyed hunting and was a bee keeper. He was an avid tinkerer; no job was too large and he particularly enjoyed working on clocks and cars. Through the years, Robert could be found cutting or splitting a fair share of wood for his woodstove. He was very tuned in to the beauty of nature; enjoying his gardens and Dogwood Trees.

Besides his wife of 53 years, Mr. Scott is survived by his two sons, Robert K. Scott and his wife Leslie of San Diego, and Michael J. Scott and his wife Pallas Athene of the Town of Kent, NY; a brother William A. Scott of Granby, Conn., and a sister Marion Hoffner of Pawling; a grandson Syd Leif Scott, his beloved cat Jag, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Allan L. Scott in 1989 and Francis G. Scott on August 17th of this year.

A Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 16, at the Gilead Presbyterian Church, in Carmel. Interment followed at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Patterson. www.Dwyerfuneralhome.com
