Daniel Anthony Viola

Dan passed away peacefully at home Saturday September 14, 2013, with his wife Claudia by his side. He lived in Carmel, N.Y., for over 55 years before relocating to Healdsburg, Ca. Dan opened his first restaurant when he was 21, and over the next 40+ years, he owned and/or managed 10 establishments in New York, Connecticut and California until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He is survived by his sister: Claire Muller (Peter); four daughters - Donna Elbert, Deb Viola (Jake Jacobsen), Keri Raich (Carl) and Lisa Bechard (Brendan); two nephews - Michael and Joseph Muller; and six beautiful grandchildren - Natalie Elbert, Laura Jacobsen, Collin and Connor Raich, and Anthony and Justin Bechard. He is dearly loved and truly missed.

Family and friends are invited to celebrations of Dan’s life on both coasts: WEST: An open house at Dan and Claudia’s home in Healdsburg, Ca. on Sunday, September 29th 1-4 p.m. EAST: A memorial celebration November 9th, 2013, 1-4 p.m. at Mr. Gug’s in Carmel, N.Y. Dan’s ashes will be interred with his mother and father at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel N.Y.
