Anne Ruland

Anne Ruland formerly of Brewster, NY, age 83, passed away on January 20th under the care of Hospice of Palm Beach County, Florida from complications of a stroke. Anne was born October 30, 1930 to Agatha and George Phelan in Bronx, NY. She married Thomas Eckhardt who predeceased her in 1964. In 1966 she married Frank Ruland and the family moved to Brewster NY where she was employed with The Putnam County Highway Department retiring in 1981, and shortly thereafter moved to West Palm Beach. 
Anne is survived by daughters Theresa (Bob) Tychostup, Anne Eckhardt, Barbara (Rich) Murphy, Daria Seminara and step-daughters Peggy Senato and Roberta (Joe) O'Sullivan; five grandsons and a great-grandson; her brother, George Phelan; and her special cat, Midnight. She was pre-deceased by loving husband Frank and beloved daughter Catherine Eckhardt Tompkins; brother, Thomas Phelan and sister, Ann Crossman. 
Anne was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles and crafting. She traveled extensively around the world with her husband Frank. She volunteered with the United Way, Kravitz Center, and was active in the Pine Ridge Condo Association. She was a parishioner at Holy Name of Jesus. 
Arrangements were handled by Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home in Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anne's memory can be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
