Fred T. Krueger

(April 29, 1924 - April 11, 2017)

Fred T. Krueger, longtime resident of Carmel, NY passed away at the age of 92 on April 11, 2017. Fred was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on April 29, 1924, to Mabel and Gustave Krueger. Fred was older brother to his sister Mildred and brother Charles. He grew up and attended schools in Croton Falls and North Salem where he made many lifelong friends.

In 1941, Fred joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in England and France during World War II. Fred then attended and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1948. This is where he met and then married his wife, Elaine, in 1949. Fred changed his occupation in 1950 to Outside Salesman for Diversey and then DuBois Chemicals Companies. He worked in the Hudson Valley area until the late 1960s. His territory covered Orange, Rockland, Dutchess and Sullivan Counties. He retired in the late 1970s where he worked a short while for Shipping Out in Pawling, NY. Fred and Elaine lived in New Windsor until 1967 when they moved to Carmel, NY and have lived there ever since then.

Fred is survived by Elaine; his beloved wife of 68 years, several cousins and three nieces who live nearby and in western states and by good neighbors and good friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Gilead Presbyterian Church, 9 Church Street, Carmel, NY. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made in Fred's name to either: The Putnam Humane Society, 68 Old Route Six, Carmel, NY 10512 or The Gilead Presbyterian Church, 9 Church Street, Carmel, NY 10512.
