An unidentified motorist was traveling on Route 22 at the Putnam-Dutchess County line around 10pm this week when a cow and a goat escaped through the fence and wandered onto the highway. The vehicle struck the two animals killing them both. The driver and his passenger suffered numerous injuries. Members of the Putnam and Dutchess Sheriff’s Departments investigated the crash.
