Christina E. Napoli Montella of Carmel, NY, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died peacefully on January 6, 2021, at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home. She was 99 years old.
Born on February 14, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late Mateo And Rosina (Orlando) Rodio. She attended Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY.
Christina was married to John J. Napoli until his death on April 18, 1972. Following the death of John, she married Frank P. Montella. Frank predeceased her on July 3, 2008.
Christina was a salesgirl at the Mays Department store in Brooklyn from 1968-1975. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Church in Brooklyn prior to moving to Carmel in 2017. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning. She was always helping others and was ‘grandmother’ to many. Christina enjoyed many senior group trips.
Mrs. Montella is survived by her loving children; John J. Napoli of FL and Barbara E. Engelhardt of Brewster, NY, her four grandchildren; Jennifer, John, Amy and Matthew and her six great grandchildren; Ava, Maeve, Charlyn, Thomas, Sienna and Lydia.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday January 11, 2021, at 10am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, NY. Internment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, NY. Visitation was held at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Sunday January 10, 2021 from 3pm-7pm.
