The Holidays, A Year On

It’s just two weeks shy of a year when we started this adventure, and I bought the Courier and PCNR. Dec. 15 is the exact day. What a year! Thanks for reading and advertising and even complaining, because it usually means you’re reading. A virtuous circle right there.

If we are not stocked at your favorite deli or gas station, give my colleague Kimberley a call and let us know. We’ll work on it. We have more plans for 2018 including, hold the presses, an improved crossword. If you have other suggestions, call me at 845-265-2468. If you are part of a civic group and could use a speaker, I’d be happy to join you. Call and we’ll schedule. Likewise, high school classes. I’m speaking to one Wednesday.

It’s the beginning of a great few weeks in Putnam: Celebrations coming up in Carmel and Brewster this weekend, after last weekend’s arrival of Santa in Mahopac. The kids away at college will be home, fleetingly.

Thought: A donation to your local food pantry is never a bad idea.

It is possible I will be able to offer a paid internship this summer to a journalism student, through the New York Press Association. Call or email and I can provide details. I know journalists, and journalists to be, are notorious about waiting until the last minute, but don’t wait. The decision is in March.
