Edwin P. Wintle




Edwin P. Wintle of Brewster died Saturday July 28, 2012, at the age of 79.

Mr. Wintle was born March 28, 1933, in the Bronx, son of the late Edwin and Celia (Collins) Wintle. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes H.S. in the Bronx, and married Virginia Duffy, also of the Bronx, on April 7, 1956. They moved to Brewster forty years ago. Mr. Wintle was the V.P. of distribution and logistics for Lone Star Industries in Greenwich, Ct., for twenty years before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Brewster; a son, Edwin J. Wintle of New York City; two daughters, Eileen Ann Underwood of Danbury, and Deirdre

Bresha of New Fairfield; a sister, Geraldine Hogan of Edison, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Justine Bresha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Aug. 2, 11 a.m., at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Brewster, with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery in New Fairfield. Calling hours will be at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
