George ‘Skip’ Senger




George “Skip” Senger 69, of Manahawkin, NJ, and formerly a long time resident of Mahopac, passed away on April 24, 2011.

Mr. Senger was born on October 31, 1941, to George A. and Helen (Kettlitz) Senger in the Bronx. Mr. Senger proudly served his country with the US Navy from 1960 to 1964. Mr. Senger was a firefighter for the FDNY and retired after 26 years of service in 1995.

In the 1970s Skip served on the Mahopac School Board. In addition, he was a member of the Mahopac Sports Association and the Secor Sports Club, as well as the Moose Lodge in Manahawkin.

He is survived by his son, Brian, his three grandchildren, his sister Janet Sanders (John), his two brothers Gary (Stephanie) and Douglas (Donna). He is predeceased by his son, Steven.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 28, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. at Cargain Funeral Home, Inc., 418 Route Six, Mahopac, 10541, 845-628- 5655. A service will be held on Friday at 11am at the Funeral Home.
