Hazel M. Ludington a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday September 14, 2021, a Putnam Ridge Nursing Home. She was 92 years old.
Born on September 19, 1928, in Ancram, NY daughter of the late Phillip and Cora (Miller) Moncuse. Hazel was the kitchen manager at the North Salem High School for 21 years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Brewster and a former member of the Brewster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Hazel was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed crocheting.
Hazel is survived by her loving children: Thomas J. Adams and his wife Lori of Brewster, NY, Barbara A. Adams-Benell and her husband Bob of SC, Linda L. Hitchcock and her husband Bob of Batavia, NY, and Patricia M. Ludington of Pawling, NY; her 7 grandchildren: Thomas and Kevin O’Connor, Jeffrey and Daniel Adams, StephanieLisi and Tyler Jones and Kacie Patterson; and her 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings; Ophelia Gallagher, Isabelle Adams and Philip Moncuse.
A funeral service was held on Friday September 17, 2021, at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY during the wake. Visitation was held on Friday as well from 4pm-8pm at the funeral home. Interment was private.
