Henry Fausto Turgati, 94, a resident of Carmel since 1946, died on February 15, 2015.
He was born in Greenwich Village and lived in NYC until serving our country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon his return, he moved with his parents to Carmel where he lived the remainder of his life, working as a self-employed farmer for many years, and then as an engineering assistant at an environmental testing firm. He served as an usher at St. James the Apostle Church for many years. He was an avid New York Yankees fan all of his life, loved animals, enjoyed working on automobiles, and mostly, loved helping his friends and family.
Survivors include his nephews, John C. (Sally – deceased) Filippini, Robert H. (Sharon) Filippini, and Philip Turgati; his niece, Janet Turgati; and many grand nephews and nieces, and long-time friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents, Fausto and Francesca Bergadano Turgati; brother, Mario Turgati; sister, Irene Turgati Filippini; and nephew, Faustin Turgati.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 at St. James the Apostle Church, Carmel followed by interment in Raymond Hill Cemetery with military honors.
