Ingeborg “Inge” W. Stahl, age 91 of Carmel, NY, passed away at home on Sept. 18, surrounded by her family.
Inge was born on June 8, 1930, in Jaffa, Palestine to Erwin and Luise (Bauerle) Kopp. Her family also lived in Tanganyika before settling in Althengstett, West Germany, where she married Hans Stahl. They immigrated to the United States in 1964 where they raised their four children, Jorg, Ute, Peter and Barbara.
Inge worked for 10 years in custodial services for the Carmel school district. She was also an artisan and gardener of great reputation, creating numerous award-winning quilts that she bestowed upon her family and she grew highly desired organic tomatoes that she sold at her own vegetable stand.
Inge is survived by her children Jorg Hanselmann (Gina) of Beacon, NY, Ute Ramsey of Red Hook, NY, Peter Stahl of Carmel, NY and Barbara Larsen (Paul) of Fishkill, NY. Her five cherished grandchildren, Jasmine Ramsey, Kurt Hanselmann, Elizabeth Hanselmann, Timothy Larsen and Erica Larsen all survive her. Her three siblings, Erna Richards, Liselotte Burke and Helga Harris, also survive her.
Visitation will be from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY. A Service to celebrate and honor Inge’s life will be held the same day at 6:30 P.M. at Cargain Funeral Home as well.
