Joan S. Donley, a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died peacefully on February 19, 2021. She was 90 years old.
Joan was born on December 30, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late George B. and Mae (Weininger) Seibold. Joan married her high school sweetheart Bob Donley on April 7, 1951, after graduating from Brewster High School and they lived a dynamic life of sports and entertaining.
Joan was an active member and volunteer at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Brewster, NY before they closed in 2019. Joan was also known for her volunteer work with the Brewster Garden Club. Gardening was one of her great passions. Her swimming pool was a summer Mecca for friends and family. Joan was also an avid golfer and competed with both men and women.
Nancy Shoemaker, mother of Joan’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, has been a great support for Joan throughout her senior years.
Her Pomeranian dog and companion “Foxy” was a major part of her life and it would be remiss not to mention him.
Joan is survived by her son Glenn Donley of Brewster, NY, her grandchildren Travis and Derek Donley, her great grandchildren Connor and Crew Donley.
She was predeceased by her husband “Bob” Donley in 1997, her son Wayne and her sister Doris Ross.
Joan will always be remembered by her sense of humor and her devotion to her family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 11 am at Milltown Rural Cemetery. At a later date, the family will have a memorial Mass for Joan. Please visit beecherfuneralhome.com to send the family condolences.
