She continued her education at Good Counsel College in White Plains, NY receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959, and later earning a master’s degree in education.

Judy married the love of her life William Paul Bruen on July 8, 1989 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Paul predeceased his wife on April 14, 2015.

Judy was the consummate hostess, accommodating friends and family during the annual birthday bash at her pool. In the comfort of her home, she enjoyed knitting and weaving, but also took advantage of many opportunities to travel far and wide. She and Paul enjoyed trips to Spain, Portugal, Japan, Italy, Bermuda, Ireland (several times, of course) and their annual pilgrimage to Freeport, Maine.
