Kathleen Hanley O’Hanlon of Brewster, NY, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the age of 54. “Kathy”, as her friends called her, was born on April 2, 1969, in Presbyterian Hospital, NYC to her loving parents, Richard and Juliann (Mulvey) Hanley.
Shortly after birth, Kathy moved to Brewster, N.Y. where she attended and graduated from Brewster High School and would eventually raise her own family. She continued her education at the College of Mount Saint Vincent where she became a paralegal in 1991. By 1995, Kathy met the love of her life Kerry and were married for 28 unforgettable years with their three beautiful children Paul, Tara and Kyle. Her greatest joy was being their mom and watching them grow up.
Anyone who knew Kathy also knew that she would do anything for a friend or stranger in need. If you were sick, she would bring you a pot of her famous chicken noodle soup and if you needed to talk to someone, she would listen for hours. Kathy was known for having a huge heart and for being overgenerous. She was thoughtful and kind, always putting others ahead of herself.
Kathy enjoyed her time split between her home in Brewster as well as Maryland, surrounded by the people who meant the most to her, her family. Encompassing this time she would enjoy crabbing, fishing, spending time with family and friends, as well as going on walks on the boardwalk together.
Kathy is survived by her husband Kerry O’Hanlon, and her three children, Paul O’Hanlon, Tara O’Hanlon and Kyle O’Hanlon all of Brewster N.Y.; her two sister(s) Maureen Roberts and Julie Bonomi along with her parents Richard Hanley and Juliann Hanley; and numerous family members all of whom will miss her dearly.
“If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever”-
Kathy, mom, you will be missed by all who knew and loved you.
Visitation will be at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY on Tuesday May 9, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for the life of Kathleen O’Hanlon at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 10am.
