PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Kent Fire District No. 1 shall hold a public hearing to discuss the contents of its proposed budget for 2012. The public hearing will be conducted at the firehouse located at 2490 Route 301, Kent Cliffs, New York, at 7:30 p.m. on October 18, 2011. A copy of the proposed budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Kent and at the office of the Fire District Secretary where it may be inspected by any interested person. In addition, copies of the proposed budget for 2012 will be available at the aforesaid public hearing. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Has filed an application with the Clerk of the Town of Carmel where the application and associated documents and maps along with published rules and regulations are available for public inspection.
The applicant requests that he be issued a permit for:
A three hole “Pitch and Putt” recreation amenity as shown on the approved site plan drawings for Carmel Centre Lot 4, will be constructed within 100 feet of an existing wetland. Amenities will include three grass tees and greens. Additional items to be installed within the 100 foot buffer including post and rail fencing, stockade fencing, sand bunkers, rain gardens, sprinkler system for the turf grasses, landscaping and a foot bridge. It is estimated that there will be 170 cubic yards of cut and 70 yards of fill to complete the earthwork. The area of disturbance with the 100 foot buffer is approximately 26,000 square feet(0.60 acres).
Additional disturbances within the 100 foot buffer area include the corner of proposed Unit 1403 and the unit’s yard area; the previously constructed paved parking area for the “Pitch and Putt” users and related guiderail, signage, lighting and landscaping. These areas equal approximately 2,500 square feet (0.06 ac) of additional disturbance within the buffer. The existing asphalt parking spaces shall be removed and replaced with permeable pavers.

Any person interested in this application who wishes to become a “party in interest” in this proceeding must file a statement of the precise grounds of support of, or opposition to, or interest in the application, with the undersigned no later than 30 days from the date of the application. Any party in interest will be eligible to be heard if a public hearing is ultimately held in connection with application.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Town Board of the Town of Carmel will conduct a Public Hearing at the Town Hall, 60 McAlpin Avenue, Mahopac, New York 10541 on Wednesday, October 12, 2011at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter that evening as possible on a proposed Local Law Amending Chapter 156, entitled “Zoning” of the Town Code of the Town of Carmel; as follows:

Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Carmel, Putnam County, State of New York as follows:
Article VIII of the Town Code of the Town of Carmel entitled “Board of Architectural Review”, consisting of sections 156-62 through 156-69 inclusive, is hereby repealed.
At said Public Hearing, all interested persons shall be heard on the subject thereof.

Notice of Intent to Acquire Property
The Historical Society of Quaker Hill and Pawling hereby asserts its intent to acquire title to the following properties that presently are on loan to this Society since about 1920. These are various small articles used by our ancestors in daily living and paper receipts for purchases in long ago times, some pieces of china. If you claim ownership to any pieces of these artifacts, you must contact the Historical Society in writing to make arrangements to collect the property. If you fail to do so within one hundred and eighty (180) days, the Historical Society will commence proceedings to acquire title to the property. If you wish to commence legal proceedings to claim the property you should consult an attorney.
