Putnam Valley — MaryLisa McKay Mangan, 52, beloved mother of Willow and Leif Mangan, passed away on December 17, 2014; in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lisa was born in Putnam Valley, NY, on Feb. 27, 1962, daughter of Gertrude (Tierney) McKay and the late William McKay. She had been a resident of Putnam Valley, having relocated from places far and wide including Manila (Philippines), Bangkok (Thailand), Amsterdam (Holland) and Deer Field Beach, Florida. She worked as a special education school bus monitor for the Mahopac School system and held a BA degree in Business Administration from the American Intercontinental University. In addition to her work, Lisa was an artist in many forms and specialized in gemology and jewelry design.

Lisa is survived by her 2 loving children, Willow and Leif Mangan of Putnam Valley, NY; mother, Gertrude McKay of Tolland, MA; siblings, Helen K. McKay of Putnam Valley, NY, William A. McKay of Tolland, MA, and Melissa C. McKay of Waterbury Center, VT; and many nieces and nephews.

A small funeral service for family and close friends was held at the Fourth Unitarian Society of Westchester, 1698 Strawberry Road in Mohegan Lake on Saturday January 3rd at 12:30pm. Burial followed in the Cold Spring Cemetary, Peekskill Rd, Cold Spring NY. A gathering in celebration of Lisa’s life was between 3 and 6 pm that day at the Putnam Valley Ambulance Corps, 218 Oscawana Lake Rd, Putnam Valley NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Water Project (bit.ly/1vjz8In) in Lisa’s honor, a charity that shared her same desire to help underprivileged communities by providing access to clean drinking water.
