CAPE COD, MA — N. Dean Barrett, age 85, passed on peacefully to his creator Oct. 5, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Peekskill, NY to Milton and Constance Barrett, Dean graduated from Mahopac High School and attended Bowdoin College.

He served his community proudly, as did his father Milton and ancestor Robert Austin, who was supervisor 1836-1838.
Dean was predeceased by his sister Daphne Seaton and leaves behind his devoted wife Arlene with whom he shared 42 years. He is survived by his sons Shawn Barrett of Lake Luzerne,
NY, Dean J. Barrett and wife Jennifer of Myrtle Beach, So. Carolina, daughters Lynnette Caputo and Daneen Kallstrom both of Mahopac, NY, his stepchildren Richard Conway, Cathi Horowitz and husband Mark, Donna Colantuono and husband Peter, 16 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Dean loved sharing his retirement on Cape Cod with his family and he especially enjoyed gardening, walking and relaxing at the ocean.
An interment service will be private at the request of the family at a later date.
