Patrick J. Brangan Sr., age 77 of Middleboro, Mass., died Friday July 13, 2012.
He was the husband of Kay A. (Cannon) Brangan, to whom he was married for 45 years. He was born in the Bronx, son of the late Edward V. and Christina (Fitzgerald) Brangan, and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. He also attended City College of New York , and The United States PharmacistMate Training School at the U.S. Public Health Hospital in Staten Island.
He was in the United States Naval Reserve and was a medical officer and purser. He worked for Moore McCormick Lines, U.S. Lines and AMSEA in Quincy, Mass. Paddy was active in St. Mary’s Church in Hanover and was a lector. He was a member of the Oak Point Veterans and enjoyed traveling, music, and was an avid reader and sports enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Patrick Jr. and his wife Carolyn Brangan of Hanover, and Edward C. and his wife Sandra Brangan of Middleboro; a daughter, Susan and her husband Matthew Kaetzer of Marshfield; a sister Barbara Brangan of Brewster, NY; a cousin Michael McGowan of the Bronx; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and also many cousins in Ireland. He was predeceased by his sister Eileen Flanagan who died March 17, 2012 in Milford, Ct.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro on July 18.
