Philip L. Moncuse

Philip L. Moncuse, of Brewster, NY, died at Danbury Hospital Center on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was 91 years old.

Born on May 22, 1927, in Boston Corners, NY, son of the late Philip L. and Cora (Milius) Moncuse. He was a 1944 Brewster High School graduate and honorably served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Moncuse worked for New York Telephone as a lineman for 33 years before retiring in 1989. Prior to enlisting in the Army, he worked for the New York Central Railroad for 13 years. Phil was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion.

Phil is survived by his children; Philip J. (Lynn) Moncuse of Morris, CT, Paul K. Moncuse of Danbury, CT, Peter M. (Patrice) Moncuse of Danbury, his 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one on the way, and his sister, Hazel Ludington. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Barbara Moncuse.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 10:30am at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastingsonthe-Hudson. Interment will immediately follow. Family and friends may visit Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY, on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 4pm-7pm.
