Ralph J. Burdick Jr.

Ralph J. Burdick Jr. Ralph J. Burdick Jr. ‘Joey’ a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died on Tuesday June 25, 2019. He was 62 years old.

Born on July 20, 1956, in Mount Kisco, son to the late Ralph J. and Patricia (Mayes) Burdick. He attended and graduated from Brewster High School.

Joey married Linda Simon on May 12, 2007 and was introduced to his love of travel. Together they ventured around the US, down to Mexico and through the Caribbean. They purchased their first home together in their hometown of Brewster and raised two children.

Joey’s kindness and generosity were outmatched only by a charm and charisma that would draw in each and every person he met or who knew him. Whether with Joey on the golf course, watching him cook and sing simultaneously, or simply talking together, one couldn’t help but be drawn to his magnetic personality. With an uncanny ability to make you feel as if you known him for years after just minutes, Joey lit up every room he walked into.

Joey prided himself on an incredulous work ethic – his most rewarding and beloved time was spent blacktopping with his family’s company, Ralph Burdick Blacktopping Inc. in Brewster, NY. But Joey’s most important and greatest passion in life was always his family. He truly loved his children and grandchildren and he relished spending time with them.

Besides his wife Linda, Joey is survived by his stepmother Eileen Burdick of Brewster, NY; his children, Jessica Burdick- Filippelli (Eric) of CT, Patricia Burdick-Unger (Heidi) of Fl, Zachary Mitchell Simon and Taylor Mitchell Simon both of Brewster, NY; his sisters, Julieann Dyas of FL and Susan Adelsperger (Daniel) of CA and Dorothea Cadigan (Michael) of NY; two grandchildren, Rocco and Jaxon. Also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Freddie Burdick (Brenda) on June 14, 2019.

A funeral service took place on Saturday June 29, 2019, 5:45pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. Friends called at the funeral home on Saturday from 2pm-6pm. A private cremation followed.

Please consider making a donation in lieu of flowers in Joe’s memory to The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse.
