Raymond Sciortino of Palm Coast, Florida former resident of Somers, peacefully passed away on Sunday September 21st. He was 82 years old. Raymond was born to the late Antonino and Guiseppa Sciortino on November 26th, 1931 in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily. He came alone to the United States in 1948, became a master carpenter and met his wife Maria A. Fusca while attending night school. They were married on April 16,1955 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in White Plains and celebrated 57 years together.
Raymond was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, & Great Grandfather. He was an active member of the Italian American Club in New York and Florida. He enjoyed gardening, western movies, spending time with family & many friends, and hosting dinners at his home.
He will be remembered for his uncanny ability to remember birthdays and anniversary dates, for his small blue phone book and Sunday phone calls, and for the best chicken soup, chicken scampi, and meatballs in America.
He is survived by his 3 children Anthony and his wife Sharon, Frank and his wife Melody, and Raymond and his wife Jackie, his grandchildren Amy and her husband Mark, Amanda, Julianna and her fiancé Timothy, Michael, Brian, Samantha, Luke, Julia, and Mikayla, as well as his great granddaughter Elliana, his sisters Rosa, Josephine, Maria, and brother Joseph, as well many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Maria in 2012 and his brother Pasquale in 1970.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28th, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 29, at Our Lady of the Lake/Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 1 Noonan Drive, Carmel. Interment will follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery.
