William C. Nichols, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family patriarch, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 5th in Carmel, NY. Bill was married to Mary Jenkins Nichols for 62 years and a 95-year-resident of Carmel. He was born on September 7, 1924, in the Town of Kent, New York, a descendant of the founding fathers of Carmel, New York.

He is survived by his loving children: Marjorie Nichols Keith (David) of Carmel, NY; William J. Nichols (Nancy) of Seattle, WA; and Neta Nichols Sacks (Robert) of Pound Ridge, NY; his grandchildren: David W. Keith (Nicole Keith), Alana N. Keith (Joe Spost), Dr. Ryan F. Nichols (Dr. Catherine Suppan), Renee E. Nichols, Christopher R. Sacks, Drew L. Nichols (Lisa Lehmann), and Sean N. Sacks; and his great-grandchildren: Emmitt, Warren, Charlotte and Henry Keith.

Our father, Bill, was a proud veteran of WWII, a business owner and leader both in local government and the community, and an ardent conservationist. He was a lifetime resident of the Town of Kent, growing up on a dairy farm and later establishing his business, Nichols Radio & TV Sales and Service, and family in Carmel. In his youth, hunting and fishing were a way of life. At 95 years old, he still avidly enjoyed telling stories of his deer hunting and saltwater fishing in the Long Island Sound and Florida Keys. He has shared and instilled within his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the enjoyment of the outdoors and giving back to your community and Country.

Visitation was held at Cargain Funeral Homes, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY on Friday, November 8th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
